On Decision Machines for Media Transformation

This document is meant to serve as an interim report of one of the channel S subprojects this year. This subproject specifically addresses a problem area which goes under several different names, including: media (or content) transformation, media adaptation, filtering and/or distillation. This document offers an initial orientation to the problem area, as well as a more extensive review of various dimensions and issues specifically relevant to the area of media transformation.
